Scenic Spots
Shanghai Museum
As one of the top four museums in China, Shanghai Museum shares the same prominence as Beijing Museum, Nanjing Museum and Xi’an Museum. The museum has a round roof and square base, implying the ancient Chinese belief in a “round sky and square earth”. Viewed from distance, the building takes the shape of an ancient Chinese bronze ware. Shanghai Museum has a display area of 12000 square meters.
 
Yuyuan Garden
Built in 1559, Yuyuan Garden shows the architectural style prevalent in South China during the Ming and Qing dynasties. With the fame of “Back to Nature”, the garden has many well-preserved structures. The winding “dragon walls” divide the garden into several scenic zones. There’re 48 sightseeing spots in this compact garden of pavilions, corridors, ponds, rockeries and woods.
 
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall
Located in the east of the City Hall and the south of the People’s Park, Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall fully displays the achievements of Shanghai in city planning and construction. As one of the landmarks of the city, it provides multi-functions such as exhibition, sightseeing, meeting, business and entertainment. The building is 43.3 meters high, with 5 stories above ground and 2 stories underground. The 5-story exhibition hall covers 7000 square meters.
 
The Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower
The Oriental Pearl Tower is 468 meters high, the highest TV tower in Asia and the third highest in the world. The Oriental Pearl Tower Consists of three main panorama sightseeing floors. Tourists can enjoy the dynamic city view at different height. The Space Module is at the height of 350 meters; the highest revolving restaurant in Asia is at 267 meters; the main sightseeing floor is at 263 meters; Visitors also can go outside at 259 meters and 90 meters. Located in the lobby of the tower is “Shanghai’s Urban Development History Museum”.
 
Nanjing Road
Nanjing Road is known as “The Number One Commercial Street in China”, running 5.5 km through the center of shanghai from the Bund in the east to Jing’an Temple in the west. There’re more than 600 stores along both sides of the street. The shops have a good variety of goods, most being brand names, high-quality ones, special local products and newly developed products, which are really a feast for eyes.
 
Shanghai Maglev Demonstration Line
Shanghai Maglev train, beginning from the Pudong Longyang subway in the west to the Pudong international airport, is the first commercial maglev operation line in the world. It can run at the highest speed of about 431 km per hour and has total length of 30 km. Being speedy, safe, environment-friendly and energy-effective, the Maglev train is one of the most modern transportation way in the world.
